Our Story
April 2018
Business Launched
Dale Sutherland decided to set-up Aberdeen Cyber Security after working as a highly regarded and talented computing and cyber security lecturer at one of the largest further education colleges in Scotland.
June 2019
We’re Boosted
An exciting stage in our business as we’re accepted into Elevators Business Boost Program. We receive excellent business guidance, mentorship, training, consulting and 1-1s with a range of highly experienced business experts.
July 2019
Business Moves Into City Centre Offices
We move into our first office! 214 Union Street, Aberdeen is our new HQ and our new location is key to our business moving forward. Our new location is in the heart of Aberdeen and it will allow us to continue servicing clients and building on our natural growth.
October 2019
Cyber Essentials Positioned
Our own IT environment is documented, tested and approved under the UK Governments Cyber Essentials scheme. We also become certified to deliver this certification to our clients, allowing us to further increase our clients level of protection and help them gain a UK Government compliance certification.
January 2020
New Website, Products & Direction
Version two of our website is launched and this brings a fresh perspective to our brand and the cyber security market in the north east of Scotland. A range of fantastic new market propositions, events and content are also launched.
April 2020
New Brand Identity
Our business goes through a branding exercise with a leading local branding and graphics design expert. We change our brand identity to perfect and align our business, our values, our communications and products.
September 2020
Gathimba Edwards Foundation
We have decided to support Gathimba Edwards Foundation and the Two Feet business start-up initiative as giving back is really important to our business and our people. We are now featuring as the charity’s headline sponsor and we’ll help 18 families start their own firms. We’re also providing IT support and migrating to a new Microsoft Office system.
October 2020
Aberdeen Cyber Security Acquires ResQ IT
An Aberdeen-based IT firm has completed the purchase of a local IT business. The acquisition allows Aberdeen Cyber Security to expand further with an increase in expertise, market reach and headcount. The acquisition process took nine months and the deal was signed September 2020.
March 2021
Office Relocation
Due to continued growth, the business relocated to a larger office premises in the prestigious Golden Square in Aberdeen. The new office premises will allow the business to continue growing.
